Innaugration Day Through A Three Year Olds Eyes!

The excitement was very high in our house today, watching Barack Obama being sworn into office. My mother-in-law was especially pumped up. Emma loved watching everyone, and everything that was happening! She constantly asked questions, like who's that, what is that place, and what's going on? She was really into the festivities. We were really surprised today when Emma's questions were answered, that she would actually repeat the answer as if she were taking a little test!

When the Obama's were walking the Bush's to their helicopter for their last tour of Washington, Emma out of the blue yells "Bye bye President Bush!", and then looks over at her Grandmother and me and says, "I think I am going to like this Obama guy!" We couldn't help but laugh! It was truly an amazing day for all of us in this country. I hope with the new administration we will see some good times ahead.

Emma Say What?

As most of you know the Eagles lost yesterday's game. We are not very big football fans in this house, but my mom has been staying here to give us a hand, and she likes football, and gets pretty caught up in the game like one of the boys. She and Emma curled up in the recliner yesterday to watch the Eagles. In the 3rd quarter when a touch down was made my mom yells "Yeah Eagles, give them hell"! My three year old then yells "Yeah, Give them hell". My mouth drops 90 miles to the ground in shock that Emma said this. There were so many emotions going through me, I wanted to laugh, and at the same time strangle my mom. Eventually, you get over it, and then you blog it!

Thankful For Friends and Family

Since my surgery we have had a lot of help around here that we are very greatful for! My mother-in-law was here last week, and went home Sunday. Now, my mom is here, and the kids are really loving Jia-Jia being here! This morning Em, and Ted made cookies with Jia-Jia while I slept. She gave Ted a piece of paper towel to wipe his hands off with, and he stuck it in his ear! Yes, and it is lodged in there! Tomorrow, we go to the doctor, to have a piece of paper towel taken out my son's ear! Needless, to say Em could not wait to tell me everything that happened this morning while I napped.

I am very greatful for all of my wonderful friends this week! There have been so many calls to see what we need, and where they can help. Dan and I both want to extend a HUGE Thank you to all of you! We feel very blessed to have such wonderful friends as you, and would not get through this rough patch without you guys! Thank you so much!

Recovery!

This week has been a very crazy..to say the least. Monday is a blur, basically because that was the only calm day this week. On Tuesday, we hosted playgroup, and a Tastefully Simple party (on the same day, and I am the newest consultant). Wednesday monring at 7:15 am Dan took me to Paoli hospital for my surgery. I had a total hysterectomy. While I should be jumping up and down, because my monthly BFF will no longer be visiting, and screwing things up, I'm not. Basically because, it hurts, and I don't quite feel like jumping! Thursday, was spent ringing a call bell, every hour because, I had to pee! It is so much fun trying to pee after a cathetar is taken out of your body! WOO HOO! Did I mention how loopy I was from the morphine? Friday, the loopiness, and the frequent urgency subsided, and the doctor discharged me! YAY!
Today was pretty much spent relaxing just enjoying being home! My expectation of how I would feel, and how the doctors said I would feel is really different. I feel okay, just a little tired, and soar. With some time it should get better, and everything else was just a little bump in the road, that one day, we can all laugh at!

Mother's Keeper

Emma has hit a stage where she wants to correct Teddy for everything he does that he is not supposed to do. When this happens we ask "Emma who are you in charge of? " and she replies " I am in charge of Emma!" The other day as Teddy had decided to take a crayon and scribble on my wall, this was the following conversation:

Me: Teddy you are not supposed to color on Mommies wall!

Emma: Mommy who are you in charge?

Me: I am in charge of Emma and Teddy.

Emma: No, Mommy is in charge of Mommy!

Needless, to say that I was speechless after that

Bringing 2009 In With Friends

This New Year's Eve was a lot of fun! We celebrated with our close friends Desi, Carlos, Lauren, Kalen, and their children. It was an extra special New Year's eve because Anneli (Lauren and Kalen's daughter) turned 3 on New Year's Eve, and Ciro (Desi and Carlos' son) turned 2 on New Year's day! We also celebrated a new birth to our gang Miles Kalen was born on October 21! Needless to say we were all celebrating a lot of momentous things while bringing in the new year. I do so hope that this can become some kind of tradition over the years! It was an awesome New Year's Eve, and it was extra special celebrating with our friends.
