Great Day!

Today seemed to be the perfect day! The weather was great, and just made the day seem even more special for some reason.

Emma, Teddy, and I went to church today for the first time since moving, and I have to say we really love our new church. Everyone there was so nice, and made us feel very welcomed. Both kids were very good for "toddlers" going to church. Emma even asked if we could go back. My favorite part though was at the end when Monsignor said " The mass is ended, etc. etc." Teddy stood up and yelled "YAY" at the top of his lungs, and clapped his hands!

After church Dan and I were able to have a "date". We had lunch at Hibachi, and did a little shopping. It was so nice just to spend time together, and have grown up conversation. It had been so long since we were out together. We had a wonderful time, and it was just a great way to end the summer!

New Kids On the Block Pt. 2

I Dan is taking me to see New Kids On The Block when they come to Philadelphia in November, for my anniversary present. I know I am huge dork.....but I am so excited. He is the best guy in the whole world! I know that he really doesn't want to go, but I think it is so sweet of him to go just for me! Couldn't ask for a better husband!

Back to School...

The summer is surely winding down fast, and I can not believe that my Emma will start pre-school in just 2 weeks! She meets her teacher next week, and it is just so unbelieveable! Emma is very excited.....I think I am a little sad.....just wondering where the time has gone. Even my baby boy will go to school this year....it is just so hard to comprehend.

One minute they are babies, and before you know it they are little people! We are ready.....Emma got some new clothes, and 2 pair of shoes yesterday! Stride Rite is having an awesome sale...When you buy 2 pairs of shoes you get the second pair 50% off!

I am just in disbelief that summer has gone by so fast....where did it go? Hope everyone has a great summer( what's left of it anyway).

A Messy Memory.......

My mother-in-law has been here since Wednesday to give me a hand with the kids, and I can honestly say I don't know what I would have done without her! She has been cooking dinner, and getting the kids ready for the day! She really been a god send to have around! That being said tonight we decided to order out for dinner. Dan went and got sandwiches, and that is what we had. Emma and Teddy were in rare "toddler" form tonight. The kids had apple slices with their sandwiches, and Emma took one put it in her, and spit it across the table at Teddy! I was in shock, and as I was scolding her for that, Teddy picked it back up, and tossed acrossed the table her. Then I heard laughter from the otherside of the table....The "Big" kid they called dad was laughing hysterically at what just happened! My mother-in-law just kind of sat with her jaw dropping 90 ft. to the floor! It felt like a scene from "Animal House", and I wanted to yell "Toga, toga. toga" so bad. But all the while Emma, Teddy, and Dan were all laughing hysterically. Eventually I had to laugh too, after all they are only "toddlers" once, and these are the little memories that stick with you in time.

YUCK!

It is just about day 2 after my surgery and I think it is safe to say that I still feel like...CRAP! For lack of a better word, but I am pretty sure that describes it all! I am still very sore, and nauseous from the anesthesia! I think I am starting to get nervous because I have never felt this way before. My sleep patterns seem to be off, and it is bugging some. I am never awake like this I am hoping everything gets back to normal soon!

On a good note, my wonderful husband stayed home with me today! I was so glad he did too! In the beginning I told him he could just go back to work, but he offered to stay home with me, and I was so very glad he did! Dan, I love you, you always seem to come through for me when I need you! You are the best!

When I came home yesterday, Emma, proceeded to hike up my dress so she could see my "boo-boo", and then she said "lay down mommy, I think you need to be cuddled." I was so happy to see the kids, and Emma has been a great little helper. Teddy has even tried to rub my feet! Both of my kids are so sweet! I couldn't ask for better children!

New Kids On The Block!

Driving home today from playgroup I heard on the radio that the New Kids On The Block were going to be doing a concert together again. I have to say that this brought back so many memories circa 1990! I can remember sitting in my room, and staring at my poster of the New Kids On The Block! I had all 5 New Kid dolls, bed sheets, and a lunch box! My mom even had to tape the cartoon for me on Saturday mornings. I was a New Kid On The Blockaholic! My favorite was Jon, I have to honestly say the Jon was my first crush! I am totally psyched about the concert...and plan on making an attempt to get tickets if and when the play in Philadelphia!

Excuse Me!

Okay, so I try hard not to talk about my children's bodily function, but sometimes it can't be helped. Especially this one, because I think it is cute.

We have been working on manners with Emma, especially when she burps, we try to get her to say excuse me. However, she sometimes makes herself burp just so she can "Excuse me I burped". Anyway, she and I were playing tonight, and she left a stinker, and Emma goes "Excuse me Mommy, I burped in my panties!". It was so funny, I couldn't help but laugh....but I guess you would have be there!

AND THE WINNER IS.......

ME! I just got a call today from NBC 10 that I won a $25 Mall Gift Card! I never win contests so this is a BIG thing to me! Now, to decide what I am going to spend it on? Not sure yet. I will probably end up putting it towards school clothes for the kids. It is just exciting to win something!

A Night in The E.R.

Yesterday we had an amazing day at Milky Way Farm with Lauren, Aneli, and Aleisha (Ani's grandma). Then when we got home we had an extra special treat, Daddy took us out for supper! As the day began to wear on, we noticed Teddy wasn't himself. I took his temperature, and he had a low grade fever, we gave him some tylenol, thinking since he is teething it was his teeth bothering him. By 10 pm he had gotten much worse, and his fever spiked to 103.4! I grabbed him and flew to Chester County Hospital.

We no sooner got there, and Teddy was gasping for air! I am trying not to panick, but I did, because as usual the waiting room is full. Thankfully the person ahead of me saw how bad Teddy was, and told the nurse that we could go before her....What a nice person. She then proceeds to grab Teddy from arms and rush him to the back! They gave him a breathing treatment, a shot of some medicine, and by 2 am he was saying bye-bye, and blowing kisses to the nurses! Pretty eventful weekend!

Flashes of Hope

I just received these pictures in the mail yesterday of Teddy. They were taken at Children's Hospital of Philadlephia, by Flashes of Hope. Flashes of Hope is an organization who takes pictures of children who are fighting some kind of childhood illness or disease.
For many of you who do not know, Teddy was diagnosed in August of 2007 with vesiocureatal reflux, commonly known as VUR or kidney reflux. Basically what this is his urine flows back into his kidneys because his ureters are are shorter than normal. It is graded on a 1 to 5 scale. The 1 to 2 grade being that the problem will correct itself, and on 3-5 grade being it will have to be corrected with surgery. VUR also causes bladder infections in children if the urine gets too backed up. Teddy was diagnosed with grades 3 reflux on the right side and 4 on the left side. He had a procedure done in April of 2008 which is working but did not full correct the problem....it did bring the swelling down, so as long as he stay UTI free, he should not need surgery right away.

For more information on VUR visit the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia website.

Emma's First Bee Sting!

Emma was stung by a bee this evening while she was playing outside! She was playing on her little picnic table outside, and opened a drawer. A whole swarm of bees came flying at her, and she got stung 3 times on her right hand, and twice on the left. Let me tell you the girl has some lungs........Screaming bloody murder is an understatement! Dan and I got both kid inside, and then Dan went outside and sprayed the rest of the bees! I think she will be okay....just a little sore, and scared!

Do You Smell Gas?

We took the kids to Friendly's last night for dinner. The evening started off great, the kids were even being good, and not being their usual toddler selves. We were eating dessert, when a fireman walked into the restaurant, and told everybody to leave. Naturally we were all puzzled as to why we had to leave, and it took everybody in the place a second to comprehend what he said. He said it again, and this time everyone got the point, especially Dan, who just kind of grabbed our kids and started to run out of the place, with Emma screaming "Hey, I didn't get to finish my ice cream!". The area around friendly's was being closed off because of a gas leak, and as we were leaving you could smell the gas. It was a very interesting evening that will stay in my memory!

What a Sweetie!

Bedtime routine around here consists of bath, story, and bed. Then Teddy will give his sister a hug before he goes to bed. Well, tonight that was a little bit different Emma had gone to bed early tonight because she has not been feeling well, and Teddy was not ready, so, he got stay up, and play a little while longer.

When it came time for him to go to bed, he went up the stairs, and when I got up there, he was standing at Emma's door trying to turn the knob. I had said to him that Emma was asleep that he couldn't go in, and that poor little guy was just beside himself. He was very upset, and just cried his little heart out. It finally dawned on me that he was doing his bedtime routine, so, I let him go in.

He promptly walked over to Emma's bed gave her a kiss goodnight, patted her on arm, and waved and said "bye-bye". Isn't he the sweetest thing?
